There are three game modes available: Career Mode, Free Build, and How to Build a PC. Career Mode is pretty straightforward, as it involves the main gameplay and the task of running your shop. You will have to manually check for customer requests via email to get jobs and keep an eye on deadlines while you order parts, build and repair computers, and even pay bills.
Free Build is the sandbox mode, wherein you can freely create PC designs by using unlimited money and unlocked parts and tools. Meanwhile, How to Build a PC is the proper tutorial mode on building computers—mostly geared towards novice players unfamiliar with it. This is separated from Career Mode’s tutorial since the job requests there don’t always have you creating a computer build completely from scratch.

Thus, the gameplay itself isn’t too hard. However, the PC-building simulation isn’t complete, by all means. For one, some of the more critical aspects of repairing computers—such as data recovery and preservation—aren’t included in your job requests. Another issue is that while the game offers realistic consequences to failing certain tasks—like forgetting to apply thermal paste when you install a CPU cooler—it doesn’t offer important steps to the process, such as installing parts in the correct to avoid not being able to fit them inside the case.
All in all, PC Building Simulator is a great simulation game that can double as a tutorial program for players new to this practice. While it doesn’t completely deliver everything involved in assembling a computer, it’s still fairly accurate and can be a great introduction to those interested in the more technical world of PCs. This is a highly recommended game to try out.
